How to get there
For guests visiting from outside the NYC area, we recommend flying into JFK or Laguardia, which are each 90 miles west and a 1.5-2.5 hour drive from Sag Harbor depending on traffic. While flight options are more limited, MacArthur Airport (Islip) is a closer option that is 50 miles west of Sag Harbor and a 1-1.5 hour drive.
We recommend renting a car during your stay so you can see The Hamptons and enjoy our list of Things to Do over the weekend. Uber and Lyft are both active in The Hamptons but availability can be limited at times.
Another option is to take the Long Island Railroad from either NYC or JFK (Jamaica station), with arrival into Bridgehampton. You would then need to call an Uber/Lyft to reach Sag Harbor (~10 minute drive).
The Hampton Jitney bus service is a great option for travel directly from NYC. It picks up from several locations in Manhattan and many of its routes drop off right on Main Street in Sag Harbor. The Jitney does not pick up directly at any of the airports but there are connectors and taxis available to the pickup sites that are noted on their website.
While mid-September is technically after “busy season” ends, we would strongly suggest building in time for traffic to and from The Hamptons!
